Justice Kirby was in Adelaide! In University of Adelaide! Two floors down from where my tutorial was!
and I wasn't informed of this! Oh well a few of my course mates had the privilege of attending his talks and they said he was as brilliant as I thought he would be. I posted my first comment of his that I came across in Law of Torts last semester and that was honestly the first "funny" comment that I have read ever by a judge.
Kirby is controversial, he dissents everything and is in fights for a lot of rights. Maybe that's why we all like him.
I've yet to do my research on Kirby and find out if he's work is praise worthy in the "law world" but as a student, he has made reading cases more interesting and has definitely broaden minds on the "two sides of the coin" and I thought how he described other judges character as if they were all family in one of the newspapers in TheUk was humble and admirable.
