So John Mayer writes about how he has given his all to his girl, yet 'she's like a maze, where all of the walls continually change' and he starts to think and '..maybe it's got nothing to do with me' and so he goes with the phrase 'you are what your parents are' and sings to the fathers and mothers out there to be good to their daughters, because '..daughters will love like you do'. Funny. John and his wisecracks, under no circumstance can I imagine 'Daughters' not to be taken in a disparaging manner, unless perhaps sung to newly parents.
